The importance of wearing the correct PPE on site for consultants

A Guest Blog Post by My Build Estimate

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) includes all equipment (even those used to protect against adverse weather conditions) used to protect employees from health and safety risks they might encounter at work, including injuries to the lungs, head, eyes, ears and skin.

PPE provides a personal barrier between workers and hazards that cannot be eliminated by other means. Without assigned PPE there is no defence against work hazards and workers are at greater risk of being injured or becoming ill.

The construction industry reports the highest number of fatal injuries each year- totalling 30 deaths last year alone, which is why PPE is so important.

Where required, wearing task-appropriate, well-fitted PPE can be the difference between life and death in the event of an accident.

As construction consultants and estimators, we are not always familiar with each site we visit, so for us, being fully equipped is paramount to lower the impact of any risks encountered on site.
